Experience in the application of DOE rules, guides, orders, standards, and handbooks including 10CFR 830, Nuclear Safety Management, is required.

Perform analysis of equipment, processes, and procedures prescribing correct methods, control requirements, and limitations.

BA / BS Degree and a minimum 2 years of relevant experience, or

MA / MS Degree with a minimum 1 year of experience

Support safe, reliable operation by identifying and effectively resolving safety analysis issues via the corrective action and work management processes.

Good to excellent communication skills and experience/proficiency in PC use and applications, depending on the Engineering level.

Engineer I: 0-2 years of experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent, depending upon engineering level

Engineer II: 2+ years of experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent, depending upon engineering level

Engineer III: 4+ years of experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent, depending upon engineering level

Reactor Fuels, Materials and Nuclear Analysis

Transient, Accident and Consequence Analysis

Engineering (Mechanical, Structural, Civil, Seismic, Electrical, Chemical, Digital I&C, Geotechnical)

Modular and Component Manufacture; Facility Construction

Fire Protection, Chemistry, Materials Sciences, Materials Testing and Inspection

Environmental Sciences (Seismology, Hydrology, Ecology, Geology, Land Use) and Environmental Assessments

System Engineers regarding functions and requirements on systems, structures, and

Licensing engineers, to better understand requirements for license applications.

Perform all work under a quality assurance program that conforms to nuclear regulatory requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

0-2 years of applicable experience.

Experience with programming in any of the following: C#, C++, Python, VisualBasic, or MATLAB.

Working knowledge of 10 CFR Part 70 is a plus.

Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

Performs NCS analyses to define the safety basis for SNM operations.

Advises production personnel on the impact of process changes and facility modifications.

Executes computer models to evaluate normal operations and process upsets with regards to NRC License limits.

Determines limits and controls to maintain operations critically safe.

Experience with direct interface with senior management.

Providing professional counsel on implementation of a Readiness Program by Line Management.

Knowledge of DOE orders, standards, policies, and procedures providing requirements and guidance for safe startup of nuclear facilities.

o Contractor assurance and corrective action management.

Knowledge of Hanford Site mission, activities, and priorities.

Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
