Museum Historian Jobs in Louisiana

Demonstrated experience in the oral history interview process.

Demonstrated knowledge of World War II-era history.

Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills as well as strong organizational skills.

Functional knowledge of presentation, spreadsheet and word processing applications and film / recording equipment.

Travel 4-5 days per week, including some weekends, a minimum of three weeks per month.

Conduct research in the historical record to expand and confirm detailed information for oral histories.

Intermediate project management skills to include organization, planning, and execution.

At least three years of experience working in a museum or hospitality/tourist industry facility or in a teaching or educational setting.

Experience in museum/educational program organization, facilitation, and improvement experience.

Experience with researching, writing, and developing educational lessons or materials that meet standards.

Experience with running and maintaining visitor services staff or a volunteer program.

Intermediate writing skills to include exhibit-specific content generation and editing.
