Microbiology Group Laboratory Technician I Jobs in Texas

Has knowledge of special specimen collection and handling requirements for specific populations, eg. infants, pediatric and geriatric patients.

High School Diploma OR General Education Development (GED) required.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Recent completion of a phlebotomy program OR recent phlebotomy and clinical laboratory experience.

Collects specimens for lab testing.

Processes specimens for lab testing according to laboratory procedures.

One year of relevant experience.

Attentive to details. Works in a team and is able to manage a large data set .

Experience in an office or lab environment.

Has good organizational and administrative skills set. We encourage applicants.

Helps generate transgenic reagents for the fly community.

Helps with fly husbandry to establish stocks and maintains them.

Specific expertise, skills, and knowledge within microbiology gained through education and/or experience.

Strong communication, documentation, and time management skills.

Reports out of specification, out of trend, and abnormal results to microbiology department management.

Aids the Sample Management team, as apparent or needed.

Must have strong organizational skills and be able to manage multiple projects or assignments at one time.

Additional work duties or responsibilities as evident or required.

Must meet educational requirements prior to employment start date.

Basic experience working in biological research laboratory.

Moderate experience in handling glassware and operation of industry-scale dishwashers, general sterilization.

Collecting dirty glassware from multiple labs

Washing most glassware in specialized dishwashers

Washing by hand for certain materials

Candidates must receive a qualifying score on each selection component to move forward in the selection process.
