Metallurgy Supervisor Jobs

PhD in Metallurgy, Materials Science & Engineering, or related field with a minimum of 7 years of professional experience.

Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills in a global team environment.

Experience in the use of high resolution characterization techniques (such as TEM) in materials development toward industrial research and development projects.

Experience leading programs funded through government agencies.

Participate in technology road mapping and competitive assessment to drive new technology programs.

Participate in the shaping, cultivation and execution of government contracts.

Minimum ten years of project management and financial budgeting

Manage metallurgical and chemical engineering activities working with the operations team and external consultants across five heavy manufacturing facilities

Oversee the metallurgical research and development program ensuring new and innovative ideas are capitalized for maximum benefit

Develop and manage metallurgical operations and work practices that maximize operational efficiencies

Minimum ten years of metallurgical experience; mineral processing, leaching, solvent extraction, and rare earth experience preferred or essential

Strong computer skills (i.e., MS Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

Ability to provide technical and project management support to other Arconic locations

Experience with cost benefit analysis and business case development

10 years of product and process metallurgy experience

Experience working on product and process improvement actions, such as flatness, mechanical properties, product recovery, and equipment capacity

Experience working with IATF16949, CQI-9, and quality system core tools such as FMEA and Control Plans

Masters degree and/or 15 years manufacturing experience

Responsibility for the successful management and development of production control and production management concepts.

>8+ years of experience in a Metallurgy role within Copper or other base metals

OSA and PSI operations experience

Drafting reports with junior metallurgists.

Providing leadership to the metallurgical team.

Report on KPI's and provide support on areas of improvement.
