Medicinal Chemist Jobs

A Ph.D. in organic chemistry with 0-2 years of additional related research experience.

Candidates must have experience in designing and executing multistep synthesis of complex organic molecules using modern techniques in organic chemistry.

Excellent problem-solving skills and a thorough understanding of synthetic methods and reaction mechanisms are required.

Good oral/written communication skills and a desire to work in a collaborative team environment are required.

Candidates will have expertise in the purification and characterization of organic compounds (Chromatography and NMR, MS, IR spectroscopy).

The ideal candidate will attach a research summary, no more than 3 pages.

Establish strategies to leverage external resource and capabilities

Experience and embrace of software tools to provide additional insights for compound design, such as Simulations Plus ADMET predictor

Demonstrated ability to maximize the value and effectiveness of CRO collaborations, such as a remote synthesis team

In-depth knowledge of the drug R&D process with expertise in the application of ADME/PK and pharmacology data to optimize drug candidates

Implement and execute synthetic and medicinal chemistry strategies as the company’s founding and sole internal FTE chemist

Equivalent combination of education and industrial medicinal chemistry experience.

Direct and matrix reporting responsibilities in line with portfolio and team growth.

PhD in related discipline and a minimum of 5 years of related industrial medicinal chemistry experience; or,

Master’s degree in related discipline and a minimum of 9 years of related industrial medicinal chemistry experience; or,

Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and a minimum of 11 years of related industrial medicinal chemistry experience; or,

Direct supervisory experience and in matrix organizations.

MS/MA degree in Synthetic Organic Chemistry preferred and some similar experience noted above OR

PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry or related field preferred and some related postdoctoral experience required; 2+ years postdoctoral experience preferred

Strong knowledge of scientific discipline

Good knowledge of scientific principles, methods and techniques

Good knowledge and demonstrated ability working with a variety of laboratory equipment/tools

Good problem-solving, analytical thinking skills

Work experience in medicinal chemistry, small molecules, and radioactive tracer

Applied knowledge with drug design principles

Excellent communication skills are required
