Overview Medical Assistant Ma Sterling Family Practice is responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to the physicians and other healthcare providers in a medical practice. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for greeting patients, scheduling appointments, taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and assisting with medical procedures. • Greet patients and provide them with necessary paperwork
• Schedule appointments and maintain patient records
• Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
• Prepare patients for exams and assist with medical procedures
• Administer medications and injections as directed by the physician
• Collect and process laboratory specimens
• Assist with patient education and provide health information
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Perform other duties as assigned
Job Skills Required
• Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
• Proficiency in computer applications, such as Microsoft Office
Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent experience
• Current certification as a Medical Assistant (MA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
• Current CPR certification
Job Knowledge
• Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
• Knowledge of medical office procedures and protocols
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
Job Experience
• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office setting
• Previous experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
