Qualifications for the Mechanical Designer include:

Experience and aptitude in injection molding, die casting, sheet metal design and top level assembly management.

Develop innovative solutions to accommodate systems, product, and customer requirements.

Experience using CAD software (designing, drafting, and concept iterations). Solidworks preferred.

Experience with rapid prototyping and part fabrication; including methods and materials.

Create CAD models, parts and assemblies in 3D and 2D using Solidworks and EPDM.

Generate both conceptual and detailed designs for HV systems.

Experience with cycle time analysis/simulations, process and flow breakdowns, and the development of critical requirements / specifications to drive design solutions.

Post-secondary degree or diploma in electrical, mechanical, or software controls technology, and at least eight years relevant work experience.

Experience in a Manufacturing Environment

Prepare 3D concept drawings, prototype drawings, and production drawings for projects.

Utilize Metalix laser nesting and/or bend software to facilitate shop floor manufacturing processes.

Knowledge of current computer applications for engineering and design including appropriate knowledge of CAD (both 2-D and 3-D).

Knowledge and ability to utilize Microsoft office suite of products.

Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).

Experience in equipment design analysis in DOE or commercial nuclear facilities.

Creating designs in accordance with company regulations and client standards and values.

·Knowledge of PLC capabilities a plus.

·2 to 5 years of mechanical designer experience

Analyzes engineering sketches, customer specifications, related data and drawings to determine design impact. Applies personal creative conceptual abilities to this process.

Uses advanced modeling and assembly practices within a 3D solid modeling CAD environment (Unigraphics NX, ProE Wildfire, Solid Works, Inventor etc...)

Develops layouts of equipment, computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, tolerances, and clearances.

Drafts detailed multi-view drawings of assemblies, subassemblies and mono-details as required.

Determines sizes, shapes and fit to components to be designed.

Modifies designs to correct operating deficiencies and/ or reduce production problems.

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Engineering, related degree or working experience; (P.E. not required).

Minimum of 5 years of experience designing and drafting HVAC systems is required.

Previous experience with performing HVAC Heating and Cooling load calculations.

Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MEP and Revit is required

Computer skills with programs such as Word and Excel

Working knowledge of mechanical and building codes.

Good English speaking and writing abilities.

At least 8+ years of experience in an R&D environment, medical device experience preferred.

Team-oriented professional with good interpersonal skills who is hands-on and self-motivated.

Capable of designing and drawing with the Solid Works design/analysis packages.

Familiarity with ANSI Y 14.5 drafting standards.

Capable of designing, drawing and documenting small intricate parts.

Basic knowledge of relevant manufacturing processes with some experience on tooled parts.

Thorough knowledge of mechanical design drafting practices.

Open to considering candidates with experience from entry level to senior level.

Thorough knowledge of use and application of geometric tolerancing and tolerance analysis.

Serve as the subject matter expert on architecture and development issues for executive management.

Manage multiple concurrent engineering projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.

Build and develop the capabilities of the development team through resource analysis, hiring, mentoring, and training.

Minimum 15 years of experience in developing products solutions preferable in the virtual reality or augmented reality space.

Proven successful track of team building and leadership skills.

Experience in developing advanced analytics solutions is desired.

Prepares, justifies and submits work requests to Plant Management and Civil Engineering.

Knowledge or safety and occupational health requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations and/or technical orders.

Knowledge of standard accepted mechanical and industrial engineering practices to include reading of engineering and architectural plans/specifications.

Knowledge of mathematics and statistical analysis techniques.

Knowledge of mechanics and construction maintenance and repair facility work processes and methods.
