Experience in materials characterization using SEM, AFM, NVIS, FTIR, tensile testing, hardness, etc.

Have knowledge in developing transparent conductive coatings and anti-reflective coatings.

Have skills in coating characterization tools such as XRD, XPS, SEM, EDS, AFM, and p-static measurement tools.

Knowledge of six sigma and its application in design and resolving existing issues

Initiate and execute the scientific research and development projects that are critical for PPG Aerospace Transparencies

Experience using various cell and molecular biology techniques to assess cell/tissue-biomaterial interactions

What your manager wants you to know:

Develop and execute in vivo and in vitro assays and models to evaluate the cell/tissue response to implantable biomaterials/medical devices

Perform scientific studies to develop and qualify new test methods and/or procedures

Perform data analysis and interpretation of results and prepare data presentations for internal and external stakeholders

Document and prepare data summaries of methods and results in written reports

Document Change Management experience, SOP Revision Management

Serves as management designee and will have limited input into the OTE colleague performance assessment process.

Trains others in the theory and practice of both laboratory techniques and quality systems including investigations, instrument qualifications, etc.

Independently writes SOPs, technical reports, project plans, instrument qualifications, etc.

Applicant must have high school diploma (or equivalent) with six years of relevant experience.

OR an associate degree with four years of experience.

Participate in training and development activities to enhance technical, safety and professional skills

At least 2-3 years of experience with material synthesis and characterization related to energy storage

Experience with analytical techniques such as NMR, Raman, UV-Vis, FTIR, XRD and EM

Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS

Design, synthesize and test novel material formulations for batteries and capacitors.
