Live Haul Yard Jockey Driver Jobs in Texas

Calls Live Haul office daily to obtain scheduled instructions for loading time and destinations for live poultry pick-up and delivery.

Obtains a completed load record from Catching Foreman before departure from farm.

Operates vehicle in a safe and efficient manner at all times.

Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.

Must be able to lift 100 lbs.

Must be able to work in harsh weather conditions and in dusty areas.

Move trailers throughout the yard, and back up trailers to bay doors for loading as directed by Supervisor.

Requires working outdoors, in inclement weather conditions.

May require a CDL – Class A; great opportunity for training.

High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.

May require current and valid forklift certification.

Performs other driving and/or warehouse-related duties as required or as requested.

Successful passing of background screen, pre-employment drug test, and other required physical and medical examinations.

Demonstrated ability to enter and exit truck as well as hook and unhook trailering equipment.

Demonstrated ability to talk, hear, and see sufficiently to complete assigned tasks. Must be able to visually identify details from distances.

Ensures that trailers are processed in the order designated by management.

Ensures that YMS (Yard Management System) is updated and policy followed. Keeping the yard organized and in order.

Yard checks are done periodically. Communicates with the gate, the dock office and management.

Must be able to perform the position responsibilities of the forklift operator.

Reading and writing skills required.
