Must be a self starter able to perform a multitude of job duties.

Must have all licenses to operate a Lattice Crane.

Must have all licenses to operate a Hydraulic Crane.

Must be able to operate any and all equipment in the yard with little or no supervision.

High School Diploma or GED. Technical education highly preferred

Safely works on and around energized lines and equipment in accordance with the company and customers’ construction, maintenance, and safety standards

Uses of tools, equipment and instruments of the trade and is proficient in line work methods

Is thoroughly familiar with the distribution and/or transmission plant

Works with the public, customers, and fellow employees in a courteous, professional, and effective manner

Reads, interprets, and works from sketches and diagrams

· Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.

· Review layouts, blueprints, diagrams, or work orders in preparation for welding or cutting metal components.

· Complete welds to the specified standards using appropriate equipment and materials.

· Install and verify operation of high-pressure steel pipes and fittings.

· Set up equipment and weld parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment.

· Work with minimal supervision.

Have equivalent experience in related work, having all the qualifications of a Apprentice 2nd Year to Apprentice 4th Year.

Have a thorough working knowledge of electric transmission and distribution circuits and related equipment including Switchman certification.

Have thorough knowledge of hot line tools and their application.

Accurately identify and record all changes to constructed jobs according to Company requirements.

Must have the ability to manage stress and handle tense situations.

Apprentice 1st Year: Completion of an accredited Lineworker Training program OR prior demonstrated linework experience required

One or more years experience in Industrial and/or marine industry preferred.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Clean and prepare construction/production sites.

Load, unload, identify, stack, and distribute building materials to the appropriate location according to project plans and specifications.

Dig trenches; install sewer, water, and storm drainpipes; and place concrete and asphalt on roads.

May operate an haul a variety of equipment, including pavement breakers; jackhammers; concrete, mortar, paint, and plaster mixers.

Must be mentally competent, able to communicate and able to comprehend instructions and build on previous experience

Must have a High School diploma or GED

Must have successfully taken the EEI CAST Assessment (1st-4th year only)

Must be totally committed to safety, quality work and customer service

Apprentices are required to attend 2nd, 3rd and 4th year apprentice schools

Must exhibit a teamwork attitude and be able to work with others

Must have the ability to manage stress and handle tense situations.

Minimum experience required of the position:

Helper 1st Year: 0 years experience required

Apprentice 1st Year: Completion of an accredited Lineworker Training program OR prior demonstrated linework experience required

Installation, removal and maintenance of OH/UG primary line facilities and secondary services.

Installation of OH/UG transformers and the wiring of all types of transformer banks.

Performs other duties as assigned within the normal scope of the department’s responsibilities and the individual’s capabilities.

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:

Installs HVACR units, including electronic, electrical, and mechanical components and connections.

Installs HVACR ductwork including flexible tubing and sheet metal construction.

Troubleshoots and repairs HVACR units including electronic, electrical, and mechanical components and connections.

Installs, maintains, and repairs computerized electronic, pneumatic, and direct digital control (DDC) devices related to HVACR control.

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE) AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

One (1) year of experience as a Lineman/Journeyman

Three (3) years of experience in the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical overhead and underground transmission and distribution systems.

Extensive knowledge of approved practices, procedures, tools and materials used in electrical line construction and maintenance work.

Knowledge of first aid, safety practices, procedures and occupational hazards of the trade.
