Laboratory Animal Caretaker Jobs in Texas

One year of relevant experience.

Changes animal caging as scheduled, sanitizing rooms, equipment and hallways.

Conducts daily animal health checks.

Ensures that activities are in compliance with AAALAC standards.

High School diploma or GED.

Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS).

Physical requirements of this role:

Production bonus paid monthly after 90 days

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Two years of experience in animal care and handling.

Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Obtain and maintain Rabies prophylaxis, Aseptic Technique certification, TAMU required training.

Forklift certification or ability to obtain.

High school graduate or GED.

Transportation: Transports tissue to and from biowaste facility as needed / directed. Assists with necropsy procedures.
