Demonstrated experience in area of clinical practice is preferred.

Preform preoperative risk assessments for patients undergoing surgical and procedural sedation at UIHC across the life span.

Reviews patient record including prior anesthetics, surgical and nursing work-up, consultant work-up, and other relevant clinical notes and testing procedures.

Evaluate patients comprehensive medical history; order laboratory testing and imaging as necessary.

Interpret and follow-up on testing to ensure chronic health conditions are optimized prior to scheduled procedures.

Communicating with surgical team about pertinent patient safety concerns regarding surgery.

Full-time: 32-36 patient contact hours/week

One (1) year of professional experience evaluating and providing quality medical care to adult patients.

One (1) year of professional experience evaluating, diagnosing and treating adult patients in accordance with best practices.

One (1) year of professional experience coordinating medical services with other professional disciplines and supportive personnel.

One (1) year of professional experience communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.

One (1) year of professional experience preparing comprehensive and specialized medical records and reports.

Opportunity to practice outpatient medicine in an established and well-known clinic

Recommends changes in staffing, services, facilities, scheduling or patient flow (i.e. practice management) to the Chief Medical Officer.

Assists clinical teams with management of high-risk clients and emergencies.

Accepts clinical responsibilities/duties assigned or requested by the Chief Medical Officer.

.Maintains certifications which strengthen physician ability to provide quality care (i.e. ACLS, APLS, NRC, etc.)

Provides health and wellness education for all clients delivered in a culturally competent manner.

Educates patients and family members on the patient’s diagnoses within scope of knowledge and authority.

Maintains board certification as a Family Medicine Specialist, Emergency Medicine specialist or Internal Medicine specialist.

A minimum of three years of experience.

Maintains current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.

Participates with the preparation of patients for medical evacuation within and outside of Iraq.

Participates and advises on Mass Casualty Drills, assisting with the managing of day to day activities and prioritizing tasks.
