Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification and IV start competency verification required within the first 90 days of employment.

National Oncology Nursing Certification (ONC) strongly preferred.

Current knowledge of oncology nursing care required.

Current California Registered Nursing (RN) license required.

The ability to achieve results in the face of multiple challenges

Performs basic clinical skills and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient conditions. Documents patient care provided.

Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

Part Time, 16 hours / pay period

Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.

Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.

Minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience as a RN post-orientation or post-residency training.

National Certification in Clinical Specialty preferred

Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).

Other preferred RN attributes are unit specific. Please refer to the specific clinical unit.

National Certification in specialty must be attempted within 3 years of completing orientation and if successful, continuously maintained ongoing

BLS (must be American Heart Association) and Advanced Specialty Courses (ASC)/Credentials according to Attachment A (available in department)

ASC courses should be taken at earliest opportunity, completed within timeframes specified on Attachment A and continuously maintained ongoing
