Overview An Independent Living Skills Instructor is a professional who provides instruction and guidance to individuals with disabilities in order to help them develop the skills necessary to live independently. This may include teaching basic life skills such as budgeting, cooking, cleaning, and personal care. The instructor may also provide support in areas such as job search, job training, and community integration. Detailed Job Description An Independent Living Skills Instructor is responsible for providing instruction and guidance to individuals with disabilities in order to help them develop the skills necessary to live independently. This may include teaching basic life skills such as budgeting, cooking, cleaning, and personal care. The instructor may also provide support in areas such as job search, job training, and community integration. The instructor must be able to assess the individual’s needs and develop an individualized plan of instruction. The instructor must also be able to provide support and guidance to the individual in order to help them achieve their goals. Job Skills Required
