Job Description of Hospital Coding Director The Hospital Coding Director is responsible for overseeing the coding operations of the hospital. This includes managing the coding staff, ensuring accuracy of coding, and developing and implementing coding policies and procedures. The Coding Director is also responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable coding regulations and standards. Job Skills Required
• Knowledge of coding regulations and standards
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy

Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field
• At least 5 years of experience in coding and/or health information management
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification
• Experience in coding auditing and/or coding compliance
Job Knowledge
• Knowledge of coding regulations and standards
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
• Knowledge of coding software and systems
• Knowledge of coding auditing and/or coding compliance
