Homeless Prevention Specialist Jobs

Ability to successfully provide case management in a collaborative team atmosphere

Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field from an accredited college or university

Ability to work with students with varying educational, social and economic backgrounds

Knowledge of local resources for low-income families

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Conduct opioid overdose education, prevention, and response training through the distribution of naloxone within local community settings.

100% Remote with travel in Central/Eastern KY

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?

Travel to communities to assist other Prevention Specialists in their efforts to conduct overdose prevention and training within the community settings.

Communicate and address potential issues and/or obstacles before they negatively impact research success.

PTO is offered to full-time and part-time employees.

Performs necessary administrative tasks including paperwork completion as it relates to program participants Qualifications

Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience in youth development field

Experience working with middle and high school aged youth

Experience working with at-risk youth

Familiar with prevention education, including abstinence

Excellent written and interpersonal skills

·Bachelor’s Degree preferred and experience working in housing and homelessness programming

People with lived experience and expertise of homelessness are strongly encouraged to apply

·Experience and ability to coordinate meetings, conduct training, and work with coalitions.

·Excellent verbal interpersonal skills for telephone and in-person communication.

Provides education to clients and property owners/managers about the program's services to engage all parties in appropriate service components

High level of organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Bachelor's degree AND two years of experience

Highly motivated, creative with excellent interpersonal skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience in housing and housing law

Experience with client databases (Homeless Management Information System/ HMIS,

Provide case management as required to ensure participants comply

High level of computer literacy and data entry skills
