Hemodialysis Tech I Jobs

Certifications required: BLS (American Heart Association)

Certification in Nephrology Nursing, Aphaeresis Nursing or both is highly encouraged

Hemodialysis and ICU work experience preferred

Current Registered Nurse license to practice in the state of NJ.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Must be willing to work holidays, weekends and provide additional coverage as needed

Initiates, monitors and discontinues hemodialysis treatment according to established policies and procedures under nursing supervision.

Starts up, prepares, tears down and cleans machinery used for hemodialysis.

Recognizes emergent situations, provides immediate intervention and obtains nursing direction appropriately.

Assists in transfer of patients.

Potential exposure to diseases or infections.

Develop working knowledge of stock control and inventory management practices and procedures.

Comply with all security and data management policies.

Ensure accurate documentation of incoming and outgoing deliveries as well as records.

Become familiar with guidelines set by Microsoft contractual agreements with suppliers and maintain a strong customer focus.

Perform cycle audits and data corrections to ensure all inventory controls are met.

Help to reconcile and report inventory discrepancies.

High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education.

Preferred: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience

Weekly - $3350 (2090 nontaxable + 1260 taxable)

Job Types: Full-time, Travel nursing, Contract, Per diem

Salary: $83.00 - $93.00 per hour

Significant experience in hemodialysis or related field may warrant waiving formal education requirement.

Implements hemodialysis treatments, monitors dialysis parameters, and intervenes per approved protocols under the supervision of a RN.

Maintains accurate documentation of pertinent treatment information; assists with department record keeping.

Performs treatment specific tasks including obtaining lab specimens, providing access site care.

Sets up, operates, dismantles, and sanitizes machines on the unit, performs basic troubleshooting.

Knowledge of theory and application of skin or skeletal traction.

Current American Heart Association BLS Certification required.

Responsible for all casting and Orthopedic equipment.

Instruct patient, parents/legal guardians in appropriate use and care of casts and Orthopaedic equipment.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: HS diploma or GED preferred, and demonstrated proficiency in meeting all requirements for Hemodialysis Technician.

Experience: Dialysis technician experience preferred. CNA experience is helpful.

Meet the necessary requirements of the Ishihara Color Blindness Test.

Interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information clearly and maintain courteous relationships with patients, visitors, and co-workers.

Basic computer skills and ability to perform selected clerical duties.
