Job Description
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information clearly and maintain courteous relationships with patients, visitors, and co-workers.
  • The position requires an ability to stand and walk almost constantly and to frequently lift and position patients in bed, stretchers and chairs and assisting patients with ambulation. May also be required to lift and carry supplies to other areas of the hospital. Equipment aids and co-workers may provide assistance. The employee may be required to provide assistance in moving machines and equipment of up to and over 200 lbs and may lift chemical and/or dialysate solutions of up to 30 lbs, and as high as 5 feet.
  • The work environment is characteristic of an acute hospital setting with air temperature control and a moderate to heavy amount of noise. Candidate must be able to independently and accurately function in a demanding and high tech workplace.
  • Education: HS diploma or GED preferred, and demonstrated proficiency in meeting all requirements for Hemodialysis Technician.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to perform selected clerical duties.
  • Ability to read, write and perform simple arithmetic for recording patient information.
  • License/Certifications: Current CPR certification.
  • Meet the necessary requirements of the Ishihara Color Blindness Test.
  • Experience: Dialysis technician experience preferred. CNA experience is helpful.
