Help to create a comprehensive database and catalog of Virginia Freedom documents

Uncover the lost history of Christian and natural rights-based liberty across Virginia,

Add value to Liberty University’s reputation and standing in the community/state/academia via quality research and writing

Transcribing of VA freedom documents and Free Negro Registries

Manage a calendar of upcoming Congressional events relevant to Groundwork Action’s and Groundwork Collaborative’s work.

5+ years of government relations or other relevant experience.

Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills

Serve as point person for Groundwork Action and Groundwork Collaborative on all direct federal advocacy work.

Draft talking points, one-pagers, letters, testimony, and other materials for policymaker and staff

Lead and support lobbying visits, Congressional and staff briefings, hearings, and other engagement.

Together with the Legal team, manage compliance with government ethics and reporting requirements

Strong communication, team building, and interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience building and growing diverse, high-performance teams

Manage LA28’s Government Relations staff and external consultants

Significant experience negotiating agreements and/or legislation, including serving as the lead negotiator, with favorable outcomes that provide win-win solutions

Skill working with senior executives and building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across multiple functional areas

Demonstrated knowledge of and sensitivity towards the social, political, and cross-cultural needs of the diverse and underserved communities of Los Angeles
