Harvest Cellar Intern Jobs

Must have experience working in a wine cellar

Working directly with the winemaker and operations team

Working with all equipment associated with wine manufacturing and bottling

Synchronizing bottling efforts with the operations team and winemaker

Opening and closing of wine cellar

Blending, Filtering, Fining, Racking and otherwise maintaining and prepping all wines

Previous Brewing and Cellar experience.

Brewing all beer recipes to standard

Tracking all brews and progress through Ekos Software

Perform quality checks at all parts of the brewing process.

Cleaning Tanks and Fermenters to Standard

Operate and CIP centrifuge in accordance with the SOP

Strong reading, writing, communication and mathematical skills

Solid winemaking theory, wine sensory, communication/presentation and organizational skills

Assists in all aspects of small-lot wine production, from vineyard harvesting/sampling to bottling

Informs R&D Winemaker when winemaking and fermentation issues arise

Collects, submits, and analyzes R&D samples for analysis

Cleans and maintains research and development equipment

Performing routine cellar duties, including but not limited to; grape receival, processing, pressing, draining, barrel downs, and topping

Performing tank and barrel additions and inoculations when necessary

Doing pump overs and punch downs

Cleaning and sanitizing winery equipment

Wine movements and barrel work such as racking, transfers, stacking, topping, washing and maintenance

Following all safety protocols, standards, and procedures

Performs data entry using various types of applications

Strong communication and organizational skills

Performs chemical analysis of grapes, juice, fermenters, and wine following standard operating procedures and protocols

Samples and analyzes wine/juice in tanks and barrels

Maintains ISO 9001 compliance within the lab

Makes standard reagents and stock solutions following standard operating procedures and protocols

Organizational skills and the ability to successfully manage various types of tasks throughout day

Wine production/cellar work experience preferred

Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail

Provides training to less experience employees on areas of expertise

Basic math skills, strong ability to multitask

A minimum of 2 years of winery experience

Diligently follows safety, GMP, and ISO procedures and policies to safeguard personal and team member’s safety, wine quality and company property

Proficiently performs all technical duties defined under the General Technician level

Operates complex winery equipment such as filtration and clarifying equipment, chillers and presses

Cap Management of red fermentations

Experience with forklift operations a plus but not required

Receiving fruit, sorting and processing

Racking and transfers of juice and wine

Inoculations/additions to juice and wine

Operating processing equipment and presses

Excellent time management and organizational skills

Prior experience operating a forklift and safety certification is preferred

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Willingness to assist with tasks outside key responsibilities

Minimum of 1-year of commercial brewing experience

Safely and efficiently operate all machinery associated with the position by following standard operating and safety procedures

Winery experience preferred but not required

Forklift experience is a plus
