Grocery Assistant Manager Jobs

Previous warehouse and/or management experience preferred

Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees, and following up on work results

The position requirements include, but are not limited to:

Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures

Maintain warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:

Overall business knowledge and holistic general management approach

Developing and presenting recommendations to senior management

Performance management activities including personal training and development

Strong verbal and written communicator to wide breadth of audiences including senior management

Demonstrated strength in leadership skills

Management experience in a retail environment with strong supervisory skills and great customer service expertise

Great communication skills with customers, vendors, employees and managers

Report key issues to Senior management

Manage Grocery Department associates, creating a supportive, efficient and customer service focused workplace

Manage the price labeling system for the shelving

Assure all grocery items are sold at the margins approved by the General Manager

Requires an extensive retail background with prior management experience related to retail operations.

May perform duties of the Receiving Clerk in the absence of the Receiving Clerk.

Responsible for performing all job duties with accuracy, honesty and integrity.

Other necessary and required duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge and ability to implement emergency procedures in the event of a disaster or equipment or computer software malfunctions.

Exposure to potential hazards exists with respect to equipment and work aids necessary to perform job duties throughout the Grocery Department.

Previous retail management experience in a high-volume environment required. Grocery experience preferred.

Previous ordering/inventory management experience required.

Receives and unloads merchandise; checks quality, count and condition. Communicates any issues to management and merchandising team.

Skills to manage financial results, including labor and profit margin.

Skills to work independently, effectively manage own time and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Skills to manage difficult customer interactions required.
