Ability to take three online training courses administered through Virginia Tech Environmental Health & Safety.

This is a physically demanding job, candidate must be able to walk, bend, lift, and tolerate different outdoor temperatures and climates.

Mature professional attitude and considerable discretion, including ability to manage confidential information.

Effectively supervises assigned employees, including the following:

Interviews, selects and trains employees;

Coaches employees in proper job performance techniques and procedures;

Directs work of employees and sets/adjusts hours of work;

Maintains records on employee productivity and appraises employees' productivity and efficiency to recommend promotions or other changes in status;

Promptly address customer service issues and refer customers to management when necessary.

Help patrons select food and beverages by presenting menu; offering cocktails; explaining the chef's specialties; answering food preparation questions.

Respond to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs, observing dining process.

Conclude dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant; inviting patrons to return.

Minimum 2 Year previous related work experience preferred

Education Level: High School Diploma or GED

Develop, implement and manage BMP’s for the golf course, property and club houses grounds.

Demonstrate proactive and effective communication skills. Written and Oral.

Recruit, hire, train, and manage a strong property maintenance team. Ensure team is cross-trained in all facets of operation.

Responsible for building annual agronomic budget. Develop a sound 12-month agronomic plan, labor plan, and operational budget.

Develop and maintain long-range equipment replacement and infrastructure improvement plan.

Implement and enforces comprehensive safety program for employees, members and guests on course in compliance with local, state, and federal laws.

18 holes and practice areas established with hybrid and common Bermuda grasses, many of which are overseeded in the winter

Fleet of mowing and maintenance equipment

Staff of the golf course

Departmental budget creation, implementation, purchasing.

Properly care for assigned areas and equipment.

Understand and carry out oral and written directions.

Have excellent communication and organization skills.
