Job Qualifications General Cardiologists must have a medical degree and complete a residency in internal medicine or pediatrics, followed by a fellowship in cardiology. They must also be knowledgeable about the latest diagnostic tests and treatments available. Job Experience General Cardiologists must have at least three years of experience in the field.
