French Immersion 2Nd Grade Teacher Jobs in New York

Knowledge of child development, progressive education, and constructivist teaching

Bachelor's degree in music education or related field; a master’s degree is preferable

Proficiency in reading music and keyboard skills, including transposing and sight-reading

Desire to work collaboratively utilizing an interdisciplinary approach to education Demonstrated personal and professional commitment to diversity, social justice, and equity

Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

Skilled in designing instruction that is data-driven, differentiated, and actively engaging

Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities Required

Manages instructional transitions; and coordinates the use of parent volunteers, student assistants, and other support personnel to achieve instructional objectives.

Licenses, Certifications, Bonding and/or Testing Required:

Bilingual/Bicultural strongly preferred, Knowledge of the Common Core State Standards, PBIS, RTI and formative assessments.

Plans for instruction for the purpose of implementing lesson plans and providing documentation of teacher and student progress.

Determines the current achievement level of the students with respect to the learning

2-3 years of relevant teaching experience required, 5+ years of teaching experience preferred

Develop and teach highly engaging, academically rigorous lessons, aligned with HVA's standards, curriculum and progressive pedagogical philosophy

Inspire students to hold themselves to high standards of academics and character

Establish and uphold classroom routines to ensure a focused, safe and caring environment

Analyze assessment data and use it to inform and differentiate your instruction

Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure student mastery of standards
