Review math word problems and make suggestions to improve concision, clarity, flow, student engagement, and overall quality

Proofread for spelling and grammatical errors

Collaborate with math curriculum designers to meet project deadlines

Understand and apply IXL’s writing style guide and the Chicago Manual of Style

Ability to communicate clearly and professionally

candidates will have experience with children’s and/or young adult books, be detail-

Copyedit using the Track Changes function in Word

Comply with LQ house style, The Chicago Manual of Style, and Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary

Edit text to ensure readability while maintaining author voice

Correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and usage

Make spelling, capitalization, hyphenation, abbreviations, and formatting consistent

At least 3 years of journalism experience

Must have journalism qualifications or a strong background in entertainment or news reporting/editing

Homepage editing experience is advantageous

Copy edit to ensure stories are punchy and in The US Sun style

Give feedback and guidance to reporters

Make sure stories are legally sound

Familiar working with Content Management Systems (CMS) and online publishing tools

Manage and schedule promotional graphics to appear in the Ticker at designated times throughout the day and week

2-4 years of editorial experience required, preferably in the online or TV medium

Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills

Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)

Candidates living in the greater Los Angeles area are preferred, but remote candidates will be considered
