Bachelor's degree in food science, nutrition, or closely related field with at least 5 years of relevant progressive experience

Master's degree in food science, nutrition, or closely related field with at least 3 years of relevant progressive experience

Uses scientific theory, technical understanding and creative problem-solving skills to approach projects.

Communicates project progress internally to R&D Manager, appropriate Marketing personnel and Sales team, and externally with customers and suppliers as directed.

Acts as a consultant to colleagues on appropriate current materials and vendors to meet technical and commercial requirements.

Must be able to manage multiple assignments/tasks concurrently with the ability to question the priority of work

Works independently, exercising ingenuity and judgment in the approach to tasks.

Must understand and apply cGMP requirements applicable to quality control laboratory.

Document steps followed during analysis execution, calculate and report results. Actively participate in investigation of laboratory results.

Review laboratory analysis data for completeness, specification compliance, and compliance with company’s written policies.

Ensure that expired chemicals and reference standards are removed from laboratory area.

Perform calibration of HPLC, GC, and other equipment as assigned by the supervisor.

Assist with hands-on training of newly hired Technicians or Scientists 1 and 2 levels.

Manage the sensory lab (design, equipment, budget) and organization of department work

5+ years of progressive experience in sensory and consumer research, preferable in the food industry.

Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail, with high degree of accuracy and precision

Assist with the development of sensory metrics in order to assess the effectiveness of the program and monitor sensory associate performance

Develop external consumer survey panels by recruiting continuously or partnering with external survey/research firms

Conduct and refine Sensory 101, our on-going sensory lexicon training with internal business partners, and other trainings as needed.

Strong project management, organization and leadership skills

The following combination of education and experience is required for this position

Proficient technical skills on product formulation, industrial processes and manufacturing practices, preferred knowledge on dairy and/or plant-based development, specifically around fermentation

Bachelor’s degree in food science, nutrition, or closely related field with at least 5 years of relevant progressive experience

Master’s degree in food science, nutrition, or closely related field with at least 3 years of relevant progressive experience

PhD degree in in food science, nutrition, or closely related field with at least 1 years of relevant progressive experience

At least 7 years of experience in modeling & simulation, statistical analysis, quantitative risk assessment, data science, or related field.

Education reflecting on of the following:

Knowledge of advanced statistics and/or probability.

Experience in modeling & simulation on a government program.

Experience using object-oriented programming in C++, C#, Java, or similar to develop mathematical models.

Experience with advanced data analysis techniques, such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, or natural language processing.
