Sends information to patients as directed

Routes medical records and compiles chart

Requests and receives diagnostic films and pathology slides as directed

Provides telephone coverage for Fred Hutch Reception on a limited basis

High school graduate or equivalent

Possess a bachelor's degree, associate degree, or relevant experience

Passionate about student success and higher education

Excellent phone and written communication skills

Provide checklist and support for Student/Parent for future financial aid appointments:

Checks NSLDS (National Student Loan Data System) and COD (Common Origination and Disbursement) to determine students who previously attended college

Assist with scheduling prospective students with Student Financial Services Representative.

Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; verbal and written

Attention to detail and proofreading skills

Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Bilingual skills are a plus

Refers all potential adverse decisions to the Lead Investigator/Manager.

Certification in an applicable program such as Certified Fraud Examiner or Accredited Healthcare Anti-fraud Investigator Certification

Experience in health care fraud investigation/detection.

Experience in a federal or state healthcare programs

Experience in a related field that demonstrates expertise in reviewing, analyzing, and making appropriate decisions.

Enters investigative information into the case tracking systems and will meet with Lead Investigators to assign investigations to the Investigative team.

Place prior authorizations when approval is appropriate per SOP in the medical management systems

Computer proficiency with knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office in a Windows based environment

Review requests and send fax back for ineligible members, duplicate requests and items not covered by medical benefit

Maintain knowledge and understanding of all processes and procedures for assigned market

Minimum of one (1) year of clinical and/or insurance experience, or related healthcare is preferred

Critical listening and thinking skills

Reviews accounts and coordinates with appropriate departments on accounts requiring precertification, preauthorization, referral forms and other requirements related to managed care.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Corrects financial and biographical information that has been in properly entered into the system.

Bills to third party payers via electronic or manual processes.

Answers all inquiries regarding patient accounts.

Interprets and explains to patients and their families’ charges, services, and hospital policy regarding payment of bills.
