Overview Estimating Assistants are responsible for providing support to the Estimator in the preparation of cost estimates for construction projects. They are responsible for gathering and analyzing data, researching materials and labor costs, and preparing estimates for the Estimator’s review. Detailed Job Description Estimating Assistants are responsible for providing support to the Estimator in the preparation of cost estimates for construction projects. They are responsible for gathering and analyzing data, researching materials and labor costs, and preparing estimates for the Estimator’s review. Estimating Assistants must be able to read and interpret blueprints and specifications, and must be familiar with construction materials and methods. They must also be able to use computers to enter and analyze data. Job Skills Required• Knowledge of construction materials and methods

• Excellent math and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in construction or estimating
• Knowledge of construction materials and methods
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
• Ability to use computers to enter and analyze data
• Excellent math and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
Job Knowledge
• Knowledge of construction materials and methods
• Knowledge of estimating principles and practices
• Knowledge of computer software programs used in estimating
Job Experience
• Previous experience in construction or estimating
• Previous experience in preparing estimates
Job Responsibilities
