Entry Level Personal Lines Underwriter Jobs in New York

Underwrites renewal business by reviewing insured’s file, producing agency experience, nature and frequency of losses and prior carrier loss experience.

5+ years insurance industry experience. Home office, retail or wholesale experience is acceptable.

Bachelor’s degree preferred. May substitute 10 years successful industry experience.

Managing diaries and organising meetings and appointments. Many PAs control access to the manager/executive.

Reminding the manager/executive of important tasks and deadlines.

Good oral and written communication skills

Organisational skills and the ability to multitask

Acting as a first point of contact: dealing with correspondence and phone calls.

Booking and arranging travel, transport and accommodation.

Continually develop product knowledge through participation in approved educational programs

Analyze loss experience, financial conditions and physical characteristics of risks

Acquires a working knowledge of supporting sections of the underwriting department

Bachelor’s degree or direct equivalent experience with property/casualty underwriting

Above average communication skills (written and verbal)
