Develops own nursing knowledge via practice, observation, professional literature, networking and attending continuing education programs.

Demonstrates competency in assessment skills (Includes admission and shift assessments).

Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter. Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.

Demonstrates verbal and writing skills that are appropriate for healthcare communication.

Supports the following organizational programs: Magnet®, Joint Commission Disease Specific Certification, Nursing Councils, and integrates their standards into clinical practice.

Bachelors of Science in Nursing requiredAnd 1+ years Acute Psychiatric Nursing Experience preferred

Provides quality care that meets or exceeds the expectations of value (core measures, quality matrix, patient experience, fiscally responsible).

Demonstrates knowledge of and competently performs technical procedures and uses equipment properly.

Demonstrates leadership in the professional practice setting and is responsible for continuing personal education, mentoring peers and educating patients and families.

Demonstrates knowledge, understanding and embraces cultural traditions and lore of community served.

Adheres to HIPAA requirements and maintains confidentiality of all data, including patient/resident, employee and operations information.

Maintains current licensure, registration and/or certification, as applicable, at all times.
