4-year minimum of recent field experience.

Installs transformers, lightening arrestors, cut-outs, crossarms, insulators, switches and switchgear.

Troubleshoots in primary and secondary systems.

Replaces fuses in transformers and clears faulted circuits and systems.

Have successfully completed approved Lineman Apprenticeship Program or equivalent experience and training

Have a valid driver's Class A Commercial driver's license from state of residence

Reside and maintain residence in Shelby County, TN within 6 months from hire date

Certifications and licenses must be provided

Performs work on de-energized lines and assists Linemen/Linewomen on energized secondary lines.

Possess journeyman level of knowledge for High Voltage Electrical/Lineman duties.

Must possess knowledge of airfield lighting system, street lighting system and traffic lighting.

Must possess a working knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code and OSHA.

Climbs poles or uses a bucket truck to install or repair wires, arms, insulators, or other hardware on poles.

Install and repair underground facilities such as cable, transformers, potheads and pedestals.

Install pole hardware and such auxiliary equipment as transformers, lightning arresters, switches, fuses and insulators using hand tools and mechanical devices.

Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent experience as a lineman

Knowledge of telecommunications systems and equipment

Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Identify telecommunications facilities on telephone poles

Test telecommunications drops and troubleshoot issues as needed

Adhere to safety standards and protocols at all times

2+ years of experience as a lineman and have the knowledge to detect power space violations and safety issues

Performs all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and uses appropriate safety equipment.

Provides support for Lineman crews during all phases of construction activity.

Must be able to climb pole to cable height using pole climber gaffs.

Current valid driver’s license (preferably a CDL) with a clean driving record is required.

Work up to 6 days per week in an all-weather environment and be willing to travel as required.
