Overview Drug Treatment Specialists are professionals who provide counseling and support to individuals struggling with substance abuse and addiction. They work with clients to develop individualized treatment plans and provide guidance and support throughout the recovery process. Detailed Job Description Drug Treatment Specialists are responsible for providing individual and group counseling to clients struggling with substance abuse and addiction. They assess clients to determine their needs and develop individualized treatment plans. They provide guidance and support to clients throughout the recovery process, including helping them to identify triggers and develop coping strategies. They also provide education and resources to clients and their families. Drug Treatment Specialists may also provide referrals to other professionals and resources, such as medical and mental health providers, support groups, and community organizations. Job Skills Required• Knowledge of substance abuse and addiction
• Ability to assess clients and develop individualized treatment plans
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to provide guidance and support to clients
• Knowledge of community resources and referral networks
• Ability to work with diverse populations
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field
• Certification as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CADC) or other relevant certification
• Experience working with individuals struggling with substance abuse and addiction
