Double Weekend Medication Aide Jobs in Texas

Assists with continence management and disposes of all continence products properly to ensure sanitation of resident suite and community restrooms.

Engages residents in life skills and other life enrichment activities.

Counts all narcotics with another Medication Care Manager or Nurse each shift.

Certified Nurse's Aid certification preferred.

Previous experience working with seniors preferred.

Responds to security system and resident call bells promptly.

Participate in job-related continuing education as required by ED/Administrator.

Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.

Report any complaints or grievances made by residents to your Supervisor or ED/Administrator.

Adhere to the proper disposition of resident medications as noted by Rule 10A NCAC 13F.1007.

Follow established safety precautions in the performance of all duties.

Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information.

Must be able to complete all job duties and functions of the role with or without assistive/adaptive devices, and/or reasonable accommodations.

5 - 9.99 years of relevant experience.

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:

Observes and reports to the licensed nurse any reactions and/or side effects to medication taken by the patient.

Documents the administered medication on the patient’s medication administration record (MAR).

Administers medication according to physician’s orders.

Experience with Microsoft office suite

Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent.

Assist and/or manage all medication refills.

Assist and/or administer medications as prescribed by physician to residents.

Notify LVN/LPN of any negative medication reactions.

A plus if you have some course work or training in medication administration, but not required.

1-3 years’ experience working with direct patient care as a CNA or QMA in a long-term care facility

Skilled at tackling numerous tasks and makes quick decisions

Responsible for setting up and administering resident medications as ordered by physicians and per professional standards of medication administration

May supervise CNAs as directed

Successful completion of a state-approved training program in medication administration

Can foster good resident and family relationships

Current Medication Administration certification from state.

Good communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience.
