Utilize Dock Yard Management System to consistently monitor freight shipment locations throughout the service center.

Previous forklift experience a plus

Transport self and/or freight continuously throughout the service center in a forklift on non-forgiving surfaces.

Hand load, rewrap or stack freight as necessary.

Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies (e.g. pallets, straps, rope).

Communicating incoming and outgoing pallet trailers to dock coordinator and manager to ensure supply is sufficient for shipping needs

Obtain and maintain certification in pallet truck and forklift operations (on or before his or her start date in the position)

Accurately loading and securing pallets of outbound product for safe transportation

One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Reads work orders, emails, and follows oral instructions from Dock Operations Manager.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

General experience operating cranes of various sizes preferred.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception

Visually inspects the cranes for hydraulic leaks, cracked or broken electrical cables, debris and/or obstructions.

Knowledge of Building Intelligence system helpful but not required Basic computer skills

Assigns and manages vehicle’s bay time usage

Sends any discrepancies with the ticket to the Dock Lead Clerk II

2 years of work experience in a Loading Dock, Shipping & Receiving, or Outdoor Loading Dock facility

Controls traffic flow in and around bays and other offloading locations

Coordinates dock space assets to ensure optimum throughput during peak demand periods

Previous freight dock or warehouse experience helpful

Load and unload freight on trailers using a forklift, pallet jack or manually in compliance with state and federal DOT guidelines

Read and interpret shipping labels

Hand load, rewrap or stack freight as necessary

Secure freight inside the trailer using the provided and appropriate dunnage
