Dietician Nutritionist Jobs in Indiana

Provides medical nutrition therapy including nutrition assessment, diet modification, nutrition education, and intervention for the patient population

Evaluate potential food/drug interactions, and/or medication and nutrient deficiencies. Provide nutrition education/counseling as appropriate.

Minimum 2 year experience working as a Registered Dietitian, ideally in the field of diabetes and/or metabolic disorders

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Follow all guidelines as outlined within the Nutrition Policies & Procedures Manual

Provides oversight of the menu management process

Is proficient in the menu management software system operations.

Completes annual competency testing and maintains professional growth and development portfolio to maintain registration and licensure/certification

Ensure proper completion of documentation (assessments, care plans, education, discharge planning)

Conducts nutrition education individually and in classes to patients, families, staff, and community as appropriate.

Provides training to manager and staff as needed on therapeutic diets and menus, food allergens, or other related topics.

Bachelor of Science in dietetics, food and nutrition, nutrition related field, nursing, or equivalent educational experience, or,

Computer skills in Word and Excel

Flexibility to respond to changing situations/priorities

Effective response to different situations and time limitations

Tact/discretion in developing nutrition plans for clients.

Consults with physicians and health care personnel to assess and determine nutritional needs, menus and diet restrictions of individuals.

Provides nutritional and/or dietary assessment to educate individuals and their care providers.

Coordinates nutritional services with other health programs.

Plans, organizes and conducts training for food service personnel and health care professionals.

Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports.

May oversee the work of support staff.
