Overview A Dietary Assistant is responsible for providing assistance to the Dietary Manager in the preparation and delivery of meals to patients, staff, and visitors. They are also responsible for maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. Detailed Job Description Dietary Assistants are responsible for providing assistance to the Dietary Manager in the preparation and delivery of meals to patients, staff, and visitors. They are also responsible for maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. This includes cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, and surfaces; stocking supplies; and disposing of waste. Dietary Assistants must also adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations. Job Skills Required
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
• Ability to read and follow recipes
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a kitchen or food service setting is preferred
• ServSafe certification is preferred
Job Knowledge
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
• Knowledge of food preparation and presentation techniques
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment and utensils
Job Experience
• Previous experience in a kitchen or food service setting is preferred

• Assist with other kitchen duties as needed
