Overview Diesel Mechanics are responsible for maintaining and repairing diesel engines and related components. They inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, as well as perform preventative maintenance on diesel engines and related components. They may also be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, fuel systems, and other components. Detailed Job Description Diesel Mechanics are responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel engines and related components. They must be able to identify and diagnose problems with diesel engines and related components, and then repair or replace them. They must be able to use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and diagnose problems. They must also be able to perform preventative maintenance on diesel engines and related components. Job Skill Requirements• Knowledge of diesel engines and related components
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools
• Ability to lift heavy objects

Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• ASE certification or equivalent
• Previous experience working with diesel engines and related components
• Knowledge of safety procedures
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Knowledge of diesel engine components and systems
• Knowledge of diesel engine repair and maintenance
• Knowledge of safety procedures
• Knowledge of diagnostic tools and equipment
Job Experience
• Previous experience working with diesel engines and related components
• Previous experience performing preventative maintenance on diesel engines and related components
• Previous experience troubleshooting and diagnosing problems with diesel engines and related components
