Per Diem Nuclear Medicine Technologist Jobs

Provides case management services to include resource and referral coordination.

Conducts chemical dependency focused educational lectures.

Under the direction of a licensed clinical supervisor performs the following:

Answers and triages patient calls for information, Tx services, general CD advice.

Responds to and appropriately handles crisis calls.

Identifies need for higher level assessment (e.g. other, non-CD, MH diagnoses; danger to self or others; non-CD crisis evaluations; emotional/family dysfunction).

0-1 years related work experience required.

Collaborates with a registered nurse on developing a patient's care plan.

Develops and maintains competencies as delegated by a registered nurse.

Reports all patient activity to the registered nurse in a timely manner.

High School diploma or GED required.

Basic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.

Maintains imaging equipment. Makes setting adjustments, as needed. Informs management of any mechanical issues/repair needs

Prepares patient for exam. Translates procedure into layman terms, based on professional knowledge, to relieve patient of any pre-testing anxiety

Communicates with Radiologist to confirm required exam details and ensure optimal quality of images.

Reviews and correlates patient's prior imaging reports, using Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System lexicons, to categorize procedure to be performed

Performs mammography exams according to established standards and procedures of division. Adjusts imaging equipment and operates controls to obtain correct exposure

Performs general x-ray exams including, but not limited to, bone density exams, as needed

Graduation from an accredited nuclear medicine educational program approved by the American Medical Association and American College of Nuclear Physicians.

Certification as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the state of California.

Ability to demonstrate knowledge of and to utilize the principles, theories, practices and techniques of nuclear medicine imaging.

Ability to demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy, medical terminology, physiology, radiobiology, physics, chemistry and mathematics related to Nuclear Medicine.

Two (2) years clinical experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in an acute care medical center.

Demonstrating professional maturity in all interactions with patients and staff.

A state license and certification to practice nuclear medicine.

Preparing and administering radioactive drugs

Capturing images that a physician will use to diagnose an infection or disorder

Limiting radiation exposure to the patient and staff members administering the tests

Analyzing specimens in the lab

An associate's or bachelor's degree in nuclear medicine technology.

General knowledge of diagnostic nuclear medicine principles, procedures, views, and equipment, including some experience responding to traumas and various hospital emergencies.

5 years of recent relevant experience

Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.

NMT-California Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist

BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

Capable of performing routine nuclear medicine examinations as well as a basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

American Registry Radiologic Technologist (N) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (CNMT)

Graduate from certified program of Nuclear Medicine Technology

Performs all regulatory radiation surveying and package monitoring to avoid waste and ensure conservation of all valuable hospital equipment.

Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Job Title : Nuclear Medicine Technologist 1

Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Practice Management Systems.

Must be certified by or eligible for the nuclear medicine technology certification board (NMTCB), ARRT (N) Certification.

1 year of work experience is preferred, but not required.

Willing to continue education in Cardiac PET with emphasis on Myocardial Blood Flow.

Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, and organization skills.

Must be a graduate of an approved nuclear medicine program; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

None required beyond above education/certification requirements.

IV placement and management skills

Level I must obtain ARRT or NMCTB certification within 12 months of employment.

Level II Minimum of two years' experience as a Nuclear Medicine technologist.

Level III A minimum of four years' experience within specialty modality in which they are seeking promotion

ARRT (N) certification and/or NMTCB certification within 12 months of employment.

Keep sites clean, organized, and adequately stocked with medical supplies. Notify management when supplies are low.

Inform management of any concerns or changes in service/methods requested by the customers.

Possesses appropriate knowledge of nuclear medicine and medical terminology based on experience level.

Maintain the appropriate medical records per company and customer policies. Ensure HIPPA requirements are constantly maintained.

Maintain appropriate professional licensure, including NMTCB or ARRT (N), BLS, and CE per registry requirements.

Ability to manage time, priorities, and resources effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Driver job duties as appropriate with qualifications and training: may be required to drive the mobile unit in special situations.

A minimum of one (1) of the following certifications required:

Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in nuclear medicine and PET/CT required.

Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy required.

Demonstrates knowledge of the organization’s Service Standards and incorporates them into the performance of duties.

Completion of a Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) recognized nuclear medicine technology program.

Operates hospital and radiology information systems as they relate to nuclear medicine.

Performs other duties as assigned.
