Design Cad Technician Jobs

Experience in new product development.

Good knowledge on GD and T and Basics of tolerances stack up analysis and FMEA.

Experience in plastics and sheet metal part design

Experience in designing Mechanical Test Fixture

High school diploma and course work in drafting technology or specialized CAD certification or 1-year relevant drafting experience.

Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Assist with preparing drawings and revising existing engineering drawings of basic components from specific sketches or layouts.

Utilize the product data management (PDM) system to control engineering files.

Maintains a thorough knowledge of drafting principles, utilizing SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Maintains the company's CAD Standards, including all related documentation.

Creates drawings and models from written and verbal specifications obtained from engineering.

Apply the appropriate Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances as required.

Maintains all drawings, models and office documents generated from the engineering change system.

Experience and knowledge in several aspects of construction is also preferred

Provide Project Managers stock length reports and glass sizes using ACIST (AutoCAD add-on program)

Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office programs is required

Produce storefront and curtain wall shop drawings based on architectural drawings and specifications

Compile product data, test reports, and samples for submittal to General Contractor and Architect

Supply fabrication drawings and material cut sheets to the fabrication shop

Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new computer programs quickly.

Diagrams, schematics, layouts, multi-view, and various drawings to scale in accordance with clients' requests.

Mathematical, geometrical, and minor engineering computations.

To scale engineering drawings using computer aided drafting system.

Successful completion of high school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred recent graduate from a CAD technical school or with an Associate's Degree in a CAD related program

Producing highway and bridge concept statements that are consistent with Iowa DOT design guidance

2-4 years' experience in design and drafting, preferably in retail.

A degree or certification in related field, preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATIONAL SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma required; additional education is a plus

Reviewing blueprints and design drawing received from customers.

Converting and preparing files for productions needs.

Utilizes Computer Aided Design (CAD) data management tools for configuration control and to maintain security.

Ability to perform all of the key responsibilities of Product Design Technician Level II;

Mentors and trains less experienced Product Designers.

Must have experience in CAD Modeler, detailed parts and production drawings

Working knowledge of structural design of static steel structures like skid bases or heavy duty mounting and lifting structures.

Ability to read, interpret, and decompose standards into requirements.

Possess excellent organizational and time management skills

Ability to work within a collaborative team environment and communicate effectively with project team and manager

Strong written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking skills, problem solving skills

AutoCAD, MS Office, and Adobe Suite software experience

Minimum of 2 years of work experience, entry level considered

Preparation of AutoCAD generated existing condition site plans from GIS
