The Multi-Purpose Clerk may be assigned to any of the following assignments/departments:

Sweep and mop sales floor, front end, back rooms, and refrigerated areas

May operate forklift if authorized and certified

LEARN through our classes and our team’s product knowledge

Good verbal and written communication skills

Ensures prompt assistance is provided to customers and offers advice on selection, preparation and packaging of deli products

Works safely at all times and follows all established safety guidelines and procedures

Cleans deli cases as needed to ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all deli surfaces

Utilizes the slicer to cut cold cuts and cheese

Following federal and state sanitation guidelines, cleans and sanitizes slicers and adheres to safe practices

Bakery/Deli Clerk should offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.

Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.

Notify management of customer or employee accidents.

Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.

Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will be able to inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.

Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
