Culinary Class Instructor Jobs

Minimum of one year teaching experience

Knowledgeable in principles, techniques, and dynamics of conducting aerobic-based group fitness classes.

Possession of current certification(s), including adult CPR/AED, or be willing to obtain one within 90 days of employment.

Ability to conduct safe and effective classes.

Must adhere to the Wellness and Recreation and University policies and procedures.

Must be reliable and available to provide a diverse amount of availability.

Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)

Prepares instruction that reflects appropriate learning objectives

Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course

Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour

Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner

Ability to effectively communicate with members of the media and relate the Miraval experience in an authentic and personal manner.

Planning and execution of daily classes for our guest

Testing and tasting of recipes

Development of new designs and recipes

Requisition of supplies and equipment

Training and mentoring of staff

Remain current and knowledgeable regarding available industry certifications, prerequisites, and examination requirements.

Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of current industry skills, safety, and health requirements.

Recommends curriculum materials aligned with course completion and certification requirements.

Develop year-round job-shadowing opportunities with community, industry, and employers, which will enhance students’ education and career technical skills training.

Provide contextual learning opportunities for students to improve academic skills in the CTT learning environment.

Updates eTARs at on a weekly basis to credit student skill attainment.

Culinary school graduate or equivalent in experience.

Strong interpersonal skills (necessary for working cooperatively with school cooks, school personnel, parents, and other partnering organizations).

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Train school kitchen staff on new menu items, kitchen techniques and the why behind WITS’s work

Support evaluation of the program.

Deliver fun, educational, and motivating classes to our students and community members

A minimum of two years of supervisory experience in cooking instruction/teaching.

Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate with diverse group of staff and students required

Teach adults of all ages the basics of gourmet cooking

Demonstrate the proper techniques to prepare food

Develop and maintain positive relationships with class participants.
