Experience (typically one or more years) working in an Informatics and/or Research Computing environment;

One year working with high-performance computing systems and scientific software including experience facilitating use of national resources such as XSEDE/ACCESS;

Experience effectively communicating with audiences whose technical backgrounds vary widely;

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines, and an eagerness to take ownership of challenging assignments;

Translate voice of the customer and customer unmet needs to material performance requirements

3+ years of experience in advanced materials or specialty chemicals industrial research and/or new product development

Experience with one or more simulation packages – Gaussian, DMOL3, CASTEP, VASP, QuantumESPRESSO, COSMOTherm, LAMMPS, GROMACS, Towhee/Cassandra, UniSim/Aspen, Ansys

Experience in employing data science and AI/ML techniques for development of new materials

Experience in a fast-paced environment

Desire and abilities to identify, develop, and improve new technical concepts and products

Experience with remote homology detection on protein and RNA desired

Design and implement biological mining pipelines

Curate and evaluate novel biological system candidates for downstream

Stay current on the field and think deeply about creative new ways to have an

Contribute to the lab through teamwork and discussion.

MSc or PhD in a relevant field (e.g., computational biology, molecular biology,

Work schedule will require some flexible shifts with evening and or weekend work.

Demonstrated experience with database design and queries, data management problem-solving, and scientific coding.

Demonstrated coding experience with R, Python, and/or similar languages.

Experience managing, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets.

3+ years of directly related professional experience in a similar role.

Lead tasks and projects to accomplish client goals and objectives.

Lead read-across analysis to estimate the toxicity, hazard, metabolism, bioaccumulation, physical-chemical properties, and/or characteristics of chemicals (or classes of chemicals).

PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, proteomics; or similar subject area with 2 years postgraduate experience in industy;

Hands on experience in performing analysis and interpreting biology with proteomics datasets required;

Experience in multi-omic data analysis including genetics, transcriptomics and single cell RNA-Seq is preferred;

Strong analytical, statistical and programming skills (Python/R/etc);

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with scientists working in other disciplines;

Experience with genomic data sets is a plus.
