Attends/Leads mandatory education, training, and in-service meetings specific to department.

Assists with development and modification of procedures and assumes additional responsibilities when appropriate.

Proficient knowledge of clinical laboratory processes, analytical procedures, and various laboratory equipment including routine maintenance and calibration.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to perform basic computer skills which would be used in a laboratory setting.

Independently troubleshoots and resolves problems and documents corrective actions.

Makes decisions and recommendations that have an impact on clinical research activities with minimal supervision from faculty

Formulates and conducts clinical research on problems of considerable scope and complexity

Provides clinical research expertise in an ongoing capacity

Independently interprets, organizes, executes, and coordinates clinical research assignments

Oversees the coordination of the Center’s journal club, works in progress meeting, guest lectures, and annual Alzheimer’s Disease Research Day

Maintains professional growth and development through continuing education. The continuing education must meet the education requirements for California state licensure.

Minimum of 6 months of direct experience.

Communication and interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with supervisors, co-workers and clients.

Determines the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria in testing procedures.

Determines calculated results utilizing testing data by means of manual or computerized procedures.

Responsible for scheduled preventative maintenance troubleshooting and calibration of laboratory equipment.

Orthopedic and joint replacement services using emerging technology

Maternity care and pediatric services

Processes and tests all types of laboratory specimens; reviews and reports lab results.
