Clinical Pharmacy Technician Supervisor Jobs

Provides ASP performance updates and education to hospital leaders, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other health care providers

Participates in ASP rounds and antibiotic utilization reviews with Infectious Disease physicians

Provides expertise on appropriate antimicrobial therapy, antibiotic de-escalation, and dose optimization.

Ensures compliance to The Joint Commission, CMS and all regulatory standards through active leadership of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee

Assists in developing and maintaining the anti-infective formulary, anti-infective guidelines and use evaluations, infectious disease related clinical pathways, and order sets

Reviews literature and publications to provide recommendations for improvement to the antimicrobial medication use process

Communicates selected prior authorization criteria, pharmacy benefit coverage and formulary alternatives to physicians, physician`s office staff, medical management staff and/or pharmacists.

Must have an active pharmacy technician licensure or registration in accordance with state requirements.

In states that do not require licensure or registration, must have an active national certification (e.g., PTCB or ExCPT).

Specialty or retail pharmacy industry experience, previous reimbursement experience, and/or working in a health plan/health care setting.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Minimum of 2 years dispensing or retail experience required, or equivalent internal training will be substituted.

Pharmacist license with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy

BLS/ACLS within 3 months of hire

Completion of an ASHP accredited postgraduate year one (PGY‐1) pharmacy residency

Receives and processes data entry of new and refill prescriptions in the pharmacy computer system.

Must have an active pharmacy technician licensure or registration in accordance with state requirements.

In states that do not require licensure or registration, must have an active national certification (e.g., PTCB or ExCPT).

Specialty or retail pharmacy industry experience, previous reimbursement experience, and/or working in a health plan/health care setting.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pharmacy technician experience in prescription entry, picking, labeling and preparing medication orders for pharmacist verification.

OR completion of an accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency and a minimum of 2 years applicable pharmacy experience;

Requirements must be met by employment start date.

Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy. Doctor of Pharmacy degree (or Pharmacy BS degree if graduated before 2000).

Completion of an accredited PGY2 Administrative pharmacy residency;

Strong commitment and evidence of achieving excellence.

Proven history of successfully working in a team environment.

Pharmacy Residency (PGY1) or 4 years of demonstrated clinical experience.

When applicable, instructs, mentors and empowers Pharmacy Residents to become clinical specialists. (10%)

Contributes to the medical community and pharmacy practice by presenting research at meetings and/or publishing results in journals. (10%)

Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Determines appropriateness for medications. Communicates decision to physicians, physician`s office staff, medical management staff and/or pharmacists.

For CPTs assigned to work the fax queue, responsibilities will also include:

Must have an active pharmacy technician licensure or registration in accordance with state requirements.

In states that do not require licensure or registration, must have an active national certification (e.g., PTCB or ExCPT).

Active Pharmacist license supersedes requirement for CPT and/or PTCB.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Required:

3 years Pharmacist experience or

5 years Relevant pharmacist experience or

Knowledge of laws, regulations, and accreditation standards related to the distribution and control of scheduled and non-scheduled drugs and pharmacy security.

BCPS - Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist or other BPS certification within 2 Years

BCPS - Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist or other BPS certification Upon Hire
