RHIT certification with an Associate degree in HIT.

One year of coding experience.

RHIA certification with a Bachelor’s Degree in HIT.

Two (2) years inpatient coding experience.

Five (5) years auditing experience in the health care field.

Strong knowledge of clinical information systems, data management and administration

Clinical Documentation Improvement/CM experience and/or certification preferred

Five years’ experience as Registered Nurse required, BSN or MSN

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and Power Point)

Deductive reasoning and communication skills.

Advanced clinical expertise and extensive knowledge of complex disease processes with broad clinical experience in an inpatient setting.

Minimum of 5 years of inpatient clinical experience.

Clinical expert with at least 5 years of recent inpatient experience

5+ years of adult/geriatric care experience (required)

3+ years of clinical documentation improvement experience, coding experience or equivalent (required)

1+ year of experience working with advanced practice providers as well as other clinical and non-clinical staff (required)

Experience with risk adjustment and value based care delivery systems

Experience with Powerpoint/Excel / Google Slides/Sheets

1+ years' experience with abstracting and data entry related to clinical documentation

Required certification or license must be one of the following:

AHIMA Clinical Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP) certification

1+ years' experience in population health required (3+ preferred)

1+ years' experience working in a healthcare setting required (3+ in outpatient ambulatory setting preferred)

Excellent listening and interpersonal skills

Deep understanding of clinical documentation, medical record coding, and revenue cycle management required.

Manage mid to senior level client relationships.

5 or more years of relevant experience required.

Develop, execute, and track project plans.

Proactively identify project issues and recommend viable solutions.

Develop analytic models; conduct analyses activities and present analyses to senior leadership.

Prior experience working in clinical documentation improvement

CCDS certification is a plus but not required

Registered Nurse RN license in the state of Vermont or ability to obtain

Graduation from an accredited RN program with recent hospital experience

Working knowledge of coding principles and guidelines

Licensed as an RN in the state of Alabama

Actively engages with Care Coordination and the Quality Management teams to continually evaluate and spearhead clinical documentation improvement opportunities

3+ years of acute care hospital clinical RN experience OR Foreign Medical Graduate with CDI experience

1 + years of experience in Clinical Documentation Improvement

CCDS, CDIP or CCS certification

Experience communicating & working closely with physicians

A relevant combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Certification or progress toward clinical documentation certification is highly preferred and encouraged.

Minimum of three 3-5 years of HCC-specific coding experience and physician queries required.

Strong broad-based clinical knowledge and understanding of pathology/physiology of disease processes.

Excellent organization and problem-solving skills.

Strong oral and written communication skills.
