Demonstrates basic skills in keyboarding (35 wpm) and using a personal computer in Windows 2000 or XP environment.

Evidence of excellent communication skills both oral and written including the ability to spell accurately and write legibly.

Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations and can spell and understand commonly used terms preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a reception role, or 1 year in a physician's office.

Actively participate in lean management processes by detailing, monitoring and updating department specific data.

Manages physician master schedules and coordinate all schedule changes as instructed. Handle patient/provider correspondence as instructed.

Manages patient care flow and assist with monitoring CS-Link message pools and standard work.

Monitors their own workflow to meet the requirements of their position at a level of expertise that requires minimal direction.

Explains policies, procedures or services to patients using administrative knowledge.

Check in and out patients and collect co-payments/give receipts/reconcile payments. Verifies that patient demographic and insurance information is accurate in CS-Link.

Completes routine correspondence including letters of medical necessity and insurance preauthorization/precertification requests.

1-3 years related work experience required.

Strong organization and multi-tasking skills and ability to prioritize work effectively.

Schedules patient appointments. Triage appointments based on treatment decisions (surgery or systemic therapy options).

Mails results and/or result letters to patients.

Completes referral letters to physicians and patients.
