Child Care Center Assistant Teacher Ii Jobs

Knowledge of early childhood education as related to child development and infant/toddler and pre-school age programs.

Participates in in-service education meetings and conferences provided for the Center staff.

Implements educational program for children during hours the Child Care Specialist is not on duty.

Participates in developing curriculum plans, and identifying instructional materials that focus on individual instructional activities.

Participates in evaluation and planning sessions with supervisory and/or Center staff.

Assures that safety precautions are adhered to.

Prepare patients, equipment and supplies for specific procedures and provide manual assistance as required.

Obtain and record patient data for medical records noting and informing RN/LPN of information collected.

Participate in teaching activities by reinforcing teaching instructed by RN and/or physician as needed.

Assist physician and nurses with physical examinations by helping position patients and weighing patients.

Assist with admission, discharge, and transportation of patients. Follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.

Clean assigned area; stock and replenish supplies and equipment as required.

Knowledge of Conscious Discipline Experience in a NAEYC accredited center

Maintains strong school-parent relations; offers communication with families on a regular basis through written notes, newsletters, phone calls or e-mail.

Knowledge of National Accreditation Standards

Must have three units of Infant Toddler course work completed with a passing grade.

Current California Child Development Program Permit

Hands on experience in an early childhood education program, preferred.

Supervises and delegates classroom responsibilities to part-time assistant teachers, volunteers, and student teachers. Maintains cleanliness and order in the classroom.

Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to State Licensing regulations, NAEYC, SUTQ, and Center policies.

Utilizes Center materials, resources, and helps maintain resources to aide in continued Center educational growth.

Communication skills necessary to effectively interact with children, parents/guardians, peers, teachers, and administrators.

Maintains all required records including attendance, meal counts, conference reports, and prepares other required classroom records.
