Overview The Chief Academic Officer (CAO) is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for all academic programs and initiatives within an educational institution. The CAO is responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures that ensure the quality of the institution’s academic programs, as well as overseeing the faculty and staff who are responsible for delivering those programs. The CAO is also responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, such as accrediting bodies, government agencies, and other educational institutions. Detailed Job Description The Chief Academic Officer is responsible for the overall academic direction of the institution. This includes developing and implementing policies and procedures related to academic programs, faculty and staff, and external stakeholders. The CAO is also responsible for ensuring the quality of the institution’s academic programs, and for developing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders. The CAO is responsible for overseeing the faculty and staff who are responsible for delivering the institution’s academic programs. This includes recruiting, hiring, and training faculty and staff, as well as evaluating their performance. The CAO is also responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures related to faculty and staff, such as hiring, promotion, and tenure. The CAO is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, such as accrediting bodies, government agencies, and other educational institutions. This includes attending meetings and conferences, and participating in negotiations and discussions.
