Overview A CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is a license required to operate a commercial vehicle in the United States. It is issued by the state in which the driver resides and is valid for all states. CDL drivers are responsible for safely transporting goods and people from one place to another. Detailed Job Description CDL drivers are responsible for safely operating a commercial vehicle, such as a truck, bus, or tractor-trailer. They must adhere to all applicable laws and regulations, including those related to the size and weight of the vehicle and the number of passengers it can carry. They must also ensure that the vehicle is properly maintained and that all cargo is loaded and unloaded safely. CDL drivers must also be able to read and understand maps and directions, as well as communicate effectively with customers and other drivers. Job Skills Required
