They inspect, diagnose, and repair oil-fired boilers, furnaces, and other related equipment. They also install new systems and perform preventative maintenance on existing systems. Detailed Job Description Oil Burner Service and Repair Technicians inspect, diagnose, and repair oil-fired boilers, furnaces, and other related equipment. They install new systems and perform preventative maintenance on existing systems. They also troubleshoot and repair any problems that may arise. They must be able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. They must be knowledgeable in the use of hand and power tools, as well as safety procedures.
